MCTA Marathon Series:

Event Details:

Run the whole series and you will travel from Sharpsville to Fredonia, to Sandy Lake during the months of March & April in a condensed 4-week span. Select race 1 or all 3 and help support Mercer County Trails Association, Inc.

All Races are SATURDAYS.

Trout Island Tromp - MAR 27, 10:00am - Thanks for running

Spring Break 8.5 - APR 3, 9:00am - Thanks for running

MKG HM - APR 24, 10:00am - $40 (conclusion of series) - NOTE: there will be no 5K

23rd Annual Pedal the Lakes Bicycle Tour

Pedal the Lakes is a bicycle tour beginning in Greenville, PA. It has multiple distances for all abilities and visits many of northwestern Pennsylvania's and Ohio's waterways and lakes.

Within a ninety minute drive from Erie, Cleveland and Pittsburgh, our full-service tour in beautiful Western PA and NE Ohio features Amish countryside, several lakes, rolling rural roads, and a chance siting of ducks walking on fish. Routes will be 12, 32, 65, and 100 miles. Support vehicles patrol the course, but bikes should be in good working order. Riders are encouraged to bring tubes, patches, tools, pumps, etc. Helmets are required.

WE RIDE RAIN OR SHINE!

Routes below will be updated as summer road projects or closures dictate!

Calling all Seniors! Join the Greenville Senior Center Bike Club for their 2019 Ride Schedule. If you’re unable to drive to the locations, contact the center at 724-588-3155 and carpooling will be available from the center in Riverside Park, 45 Alan Ave., Greenville, PA 16125. Rides are good for all skill levels.

September 13, 2019 (Rain Day September 14, 2019) - Wilhelm Ride - Approx. 13 miles

  • Meet at trail 9:30 - 10:00, ride starts at 10:00

Grab your tents and sleeping bags, we are going camping!
When: June 14-16th (Father's Day weekend)
Cost: $15 Camping Fee (not all activities are free)
Details: This is a tent only event, RV's are not permitted. Tent's can be rented through Carried Away Outfitters.

Some Activities Include:
• Relay for Life of Greenville's: Food Truck Dinner Party
• Shenango River Watcher's : Spring Paddlefest
• Harthegig Conservation Club's: Archery Shoot and Hatchet Throwing
• Mercer County Trails Association's: Bicycle Safety Rodeo, and Historical Slow Ride
• Trumbull County Disc Golf Associates': Disc Golf Glow Throw
• Mercer County Area on Aging's: Corn Hole Tournament
• Live music in the Amphitheatre

5th Annual Polar Bear Thaw Bike Ride

5th ANNUAL POLAR BEAR THAW BIKE RIDE
NON-COMPETITIVE, FUN, FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT!
Riders depart from the Y on June 16th at 10am.
Pre-Register at the Y: Now – June 15th
Riders can choose to ride
(approx) 11, 21, 30 or NEW 40 mile routes! Directional signs help guide riders along the route, and maps are provided.

All net proceeds from this event will benefit the YMCA Financial Assistance program. Through our Financial Assistance program, the Y offers scholarships to youth and families who may be unable to afford our programs. By participating and supporting the YMCA Polar Bear Bike Ride, you work alongside the Y to help build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.

Cost: 
$15 if pre-registered by June 15th
$25 if registered day-of
$10 for each additional family/group participant
Includes lunch

Sponsorship Opportunities:
Sponsors are needed to help make this event a success. Any amount is helpful, and sponsorships of $100 or more will receive special recognition for your support.

Trail Mix 2018

Join the Mercer County Trails Association on Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Riverside Park, in Greenville for Trail Mix 2018. Hosted together with the Revitalize Riverside Fund, this event is to formally introduce the community to the multiuse trail completed in 2017 from Main Street to Porter Road.

The event begins with a ribbon cutting which will also be the start to a 5K race on the crushed limestone trail. Happening from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. is the Kids’ Fishing Tournament at Peggie’s Ponds in Riverside Park, adjacent to the bicycle trail. There will be poles available for use, with bait provided by Carried Away Outfitters. Bring your own bike for a Bicycle Rodeo from 12 to 1:30 p.m. There will be a limited number of free helmets given out to participants. Be sure to check out the scavenger hunt on the Riverside Nature Trail. At 1:30 p.m., try your skills on a unicycle, hosted by The Butler Wobble Group.
